SYDNEY/HONG KONG, Feb 19 (Reuters) - HSBC's headcount fell 3% last year and its staff bonus pool hardly changed as a new CEO sharpened focus on costs and initiated sweeping restructuring of the Asia-focused lender, showed its 2024 financial report issued on Wednesday.
The running back, who capped a historic season that saw him snap former Broncos star Terrell Davis' single-season record of 2,476 rushing yards, pocketed an extra $250,000 for helping Philadelphia to its second Super Bowl victory thanks to his unique contract structure.
Saquon Barkley, for example, took his total to $1.5 million thanks to his role in the humiliation of the Chiefs. Meanwhile, some Eagles stars have banked far more than their $171,000 Super Bowl prize.
Irish bookmaker Paddy Power is running the bonus campaign, offering a 180,000 pounds payout for every perfect leg, with the prize split evenly between the player who lands the shot, a lucky fan in the crowd and Prostate Cancer UK.
Then came a key flashpoint. Yoram Moefana capitalised almost immediately with France's first, Ramos improving the score for a 10-0 lead. A rolling French maul was only stopped illegally by Jamie Ritchie, the Scotland flanker paying the price with a yellow card.
HSBC's report also showed its global workforce totalled 220,928 across its businesses versus 227,552 in 2023 and 232,642 in 2022. There was a 5.5% reduction in staff at its wealth and personal banking business.
Dec 27 (Reuters) - Australian Damon Heta landed the second nine-darter of the PDC World Championship on Friday to secure a bonus from the sponsors for himself plus a Swiss darts fan, who plans to spend the money on beer and new windows for his house, and a charity.
And they are, overall, deserving winners of the Six Nations. How they will regret somehow losing away to England, the only result which stopped them recording a Grand Slam. Ultimately, France were not to be denied.
It also set stiff cost-cutting targets under CEO Georges Elhedery's push to boost returns with increasing attention on Asia where the London-headquartered bank earns the bulk of its profit. HSBC posted annual profit that beat market estimates, helped by increased revenue in wealth and markets businesses.
But this was also an evening where Les Bleus were handed a get out of jail free card to lift the 2025 Six Nations title as once again professional rugby showed it does not punish foul play as it should. Gregor Townsend's side deserved more. Scotland gave it everything.
Giddy from a Cardiff destruction, England fans were suddenly Scottish for 80 minutes. But France had ‘15 men on a mission' - such was the front page headline of the country's sports newspaper L'Equipe - and they quickly got to work.
His mood did soon improve. But the look on their head coach Fabien Galthie's face just before the break showed he was not up for any form of light entertainment. France were in a battle and Galthie knew it.
France's fanatical supporters started early. More than six hours before kick-off in Paris and before even the first game of ‘Super Saturday' had begun in Rome, they lined the streets outside the Stade de France.
Ramos kicked a third penalty. Their Toulouse full-back Blair Kinghorn tore through midfield and set-up Tom Jordan. But Scotland weren't going away. And they were unfortunate not to go to the break ahead. But the try was ruled out for Kinghorn having a foot in touch.
He was never going to be stopped as France's try machine, the top scorer in this year's Six Nations, recorded his eighth of the tournament. As Russell led Scotland deneme bonusu veren siteler forward, he and Graham's link-up broke down. Ntamack pounced and raced clear, finding Bielle-Biarrey in support.
Their iconic captain Antoine Dupont, who missed this game and is also out for the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury suffered in the hammering of Ireland, entered the pitch to help Gregory Alldritt lift the trophy. For Scotland, it was once again a question of what might have been.
Scotland were backed by a significant travelling party too, many of whom were early arrivals in the northern suburb of Saint-Denis. One group erected an emergency picnic table groaning with cheese and charcuterie boards and a fine selection of wine.
French fans had only just finished celebrating Mauvaka being let off the hook when Darcy Graham scythed through their defence to score. Russell converted and kicked a penalty after more Scottish pressure earned French prop Jean-Baptiste Gros a yellow.
