I am a privacy-conscious individual and feel everyone has the right to control what personal data is available about them online. That's why I choose to opt out of Spokeo, an online directory that collects personal information. Using the process described at Privacy tips on Medium to remove my listing, I successfully removed my personal details from their database. I recommend that everyone to do the same and protect their privacy by removing their listings from these types of online directories.

I wish more people become aware of how important it is to control your digital footprint and would opt out of people search sites. While it takes a few minutes, opting out can make a big difference for your privacy online.
